Edward Youmans' Chemical Atlas, 1856.

Science writer and editor Edward Livingston Youmans (1821-1887) was someone we would have liked to meet. Trained as a chemist and doctor, he was a pioneer in popularizing science and scientific culture. 

This outtake from his 1854 Chemical Atlas is one of many examples of infographics we would have loved to create.
