Who doesn't want a book filled with gorgeous vintage beer cans?
Last year Chronicle released a book called Beer: A Genuine Collection of Cans. The book contains beer cans accumulated by can collector Josh Russo. The cans span more than 60 years and 30 countries. They range from bold and graphic to floral and illustrative. All are beautiful, all tell a story of geography, and all show the history of iconic beer brands and how they have continually evolved and changed their image.
Authored and designed by graphic designers Dan Becker and Lance Wilson, Beer features nearly 500 photos of beer cans—from the earliest Budweiser cans to obscure beer companies in Cincinnati—and takes you on a tour of the brands, styles and designs that define the last century of beer.
It's the perfect gift for any designer and/or any non-designer. Do you have a creative friend? Check. Do you have a father? Check. Do you have a grandfather? Check. Do you have a crazy uncle? Check. Do you have a younger brother who's in college drinking his ass off? Check. Do you know anyone who likes beer? CHECK.
As you can see, just about everyone would dig this book. Cheers!
