James Bond reissue book cover design, 2012
I
saw these advertised in a magazine. Amazon’s mysteries and thrillers
imprint, Thomas and Mercer, is re-releasing Ian Fleming’s original James Bond novels. Black
and white with a splash of red. Clear, abstract designs that don’t rely on color saturation.
Same holds true for this 1934 cover of James Joyce’s Ulysses, designed for the first authorized American edition in 1934. Tucking the author’s name between the “E” and the “S” makes this cover timeless.
