Oneohtrix Point Never - Boring Angel, directed by John Michael Boling

Our reality is surrounded by emojis, a japanese version of the classic emoticons. There are thousands of those little faces, supposedly designed to express each of our “emotions.” I can’t take them seriously.

Finally, with this project, I might say, “They touch me.” This is an emojis epic narrative used to create real and strong emotions.

A tragic love story composed in just one white frame with a hectic sequence of those little faces.

A serious and intense audiovisual experience directed by John Michael Boling for the experimentalist musician Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneothrix Point Ever.

Sad message using emoticons

The first documented use of emoticons with a specific suggestion that they be used to express emotion.
