Canon Blue’s “Rumspringa” album cover

Album cover for American musician Canon Blue, soon to be releasing his second album, “Rumspringa,” at Temporary Residence and Rumraket.

This is another inspiring example of how Hvass & Hannibal work. The outcome is really precise and detailed and there’s so much more than the surface shows. I am really inspired by the fact that they manage to combine making things from scratch, the old school way, and polishing it—with an immaculate result. You can really see the time put into this project without it feeling forced.

Canon Blue: Lyrics

Making the cover

Hvass & Hannibal is a multidisciplinary arts and design studio based in Copenhagen. Since 2006, its founders, Nan Na Hvass and Sofie Hannibal, have worked in close collaborative partnership with illustrative and conceptual design in a number of different fields for numerous clients in Europe, Asia and the US. Whether in the digital realm or on a three-dimensional scale, the studio takes projects from esoteric illustrative beginnings to a full art direction and graphic design solution, all in-house. As well as being image makers, they have also directed high profile photographic projects and created sets and costumes for, amongst others, one of Denmark’s famous musical successes of recent years—Efterklang.
