BILL MORAN of Blinc Publishing
is a third generation letterpress printer, graphic designer and professor of printing history at the University of Minnesota. Blinc Publishing is a multidisciplinary branding firm, which was founded in 1996. Since 2001, Bill has worked for the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum
in a variety of roles, including the writing and publishing of his book Hamilton Wood Type, A History in Headlines
. He currently serves as the museum’s artistic director, responsible for all aspects of merchandise, annual programming and the museum’s visual brand. As a professor of design, he teaches Travels in Typography
, examining the history and evolution of the printed word. The class includes an annual study abroad session
, where students visit printing studios and rare book libraries in Madrid, Venice and Mainz. Bill’s work has been published and exhibited internationally.
