Dan Rhatigan

Dan Rhatigan worked as a designer and typographer in Boston and New York for 15 years before moving to England in 2006 for graduate school. After receiving his M.A. in typeface design, he joined Monotype in the UK. Now a type director based in New York, Dan works on custom type development projects and consults on typographic issues with customers, and from time to time he gives talks about type and typography. Over the years, he has also taught graphic design, typography and branding. Dan holds a B.F.A. degree in graphic design from Boston University, and an M.A. in typeface design from the University of Reading in the UK. He is co-curator of “Century: 100 Years of Type in Design,” on view at the AIGA National Design Center until late June 2014.
