TypeEd brings the craft of typography back to design education. Our mission is to educate designers on the fundamentals of typography and bridge the gap of type skills between the institutionalized learning and professional worlds.

Partners Rachel Elnar and Michael Stinson originally started the program in 2012 as a side project at Ramp Creative to eliminate the countless hours of watching their interns struggle with grids, hierarchy and choosing typefaces while eating up project budgets. Since then, TypeEd has trained designers from Variety Magazine, Hulu, 72andSunny, Disney, Deutsche, Mattel, American Apparel, CBS, Tennis Channel, LiveNation, 180LA, Los Angeles Times, Forever 21 and more.
