Designer Wendell Castle describes working at GlassLab during a design session at the Corning Museum of Glass
In collaboration with the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum’s exhibition “Graphic Design—Now in Production,” a portable studio from the Corning Museum of Glass, GlassLab, is offering the public a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the art of glassblowing.
What makes this event perhaps even more unique than the usual glassblowing studio is that graphic designers from the “Graphic Design—Now in Production” exhibition, who may not have experience in glassblowing, can bring their ideas to GlassLab, and the Corning Museum’s blowers will help them translate their drawings into molten glass.
