Her Idea, an all-ages picture book by Rilla

Her Idea is an all-ages picture book by Rilla Alexander that addresses the concept of having and completing ideas, through a character named Sozi.

We really believe that in order to be creative you need to be curious, and our curiosity is often peaked by the different people we meet. Recently we were lucky enough to make a trip to Berlin, and while we were there we had the opportunity to meet up with Rilla and her husband, both members of Rinzen. Rilla’s energy, enthusiasm and dynamic illustration style are inspiring.

Sozi is Rilla’s alter ego, full of ideas but she has trouble finishing each one—a scenario we can certainly relate to. In the book she works with friends to get it together for a happy ending.

Like a crossing of Scott Belksy’s Making Ideas Happen and Dr. Seuss’s Oh the Places You’ll Go!, the illustrative and playful approach can be profound for a wide range of audiences.

The book has already sold out through the publisher Victionary, but if you’re lucky you may still be able to find a copy at an art/design shop.

I think this is brilliant. I wish I had read this as a kid- may have completed more ideas at this stage :)
