With nearly every scene featuring some degree of fantastic, mostly hand-drawn, typographic design, Annie Atkins made the most out of a dream opportunity to lead the design team for the in-movie graphics in Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel.

While watching The Grand Budapest Hotel, there were honestly many moments where we were so enamored with the branding, signage, and packaging in the movie that we lost track of what was going on in the plot. The fictitious movie world contained a large variety of invented publications and companies that spanned several decades.

Atkins and her team did an incredible job developing an extremely expansive design ecosystem while maintaining the overall cohesive style that makes Wes Anderson movies so unique.
