My two girls (five and two) are learning to share. And it’s hard. I love it when I can show them that sharing is something that will enrich not only their lives, but those of others. And if I can add an ecological side to it, well, I’ll be damned.

What started with a small group in Wisconsin is slowly growing across borders—folks who are creating their very own Little Free Library. A project that proudly displays who they are in its shape, materials, decoration and placement.

A personal project with a collective goal that brings more than a smile a day from those who get a glimpse, and a bigger smile from those who actually get to use it.

I built 14 libraries for our art group (http://www.facebook.com/MilwaukeeArtists/artsinmilwaukee.org). A great supporter of our mission, Mike Brenner helped to set the event up along with Brandons Toolshed and Cornerstone Management. http://brennerbrewing.com/blog/Little-Free-Library.shtml
At the Brandon’s Toolshed event, 29 artists painted/designed the libraries exterior. Very satisfying working on such a project. Six more remain to be installed of the 29 total.
    Thanks for posting about them.

Love these! Have been noticing them popping up all over Minneapolis. What a great way to connect and share with neighbors and the community!
