A lot of the work The Principals does crosses specialties. In fact, we deliberately seek out projects which demand this, typically because the results can be unexpected. This type of work can get complicated very quickly, and although the results are unexpected, they aren’t necessarily good. What struck us about this collaboration between French illustrator Virassamy and Italian lamp manufacturers Servomuto is that it has a simplicity and elegance rarely seen in collaborations—with beautifully unanticipated results. |
Francesco Franchi lives and works in Milan, Italy, where I also happen to live and work. I’ve followed his work for a while and would argue he’s an individual/designer with a truly original and significant voice in the world of editorial graphic design. |
