Easy and beautiful

Anyone remember the Eames toy, “House of Cards”….? 100 percent gorgeous design. If you love the idea of play and chance when designing, you’ll flip over Skallops.

I found the E&M Labs group on Kickstarter, and their new project instantly provoked a donation. The actual product is a smartly designed piece of birch varnished in a variety of colors. A quantum leap from “House of Cards.” When you start building with Skallops the possibilities are endless. Z-space is introduced and with enough materials you could build a robot, a Buckminster Fuller house or, how about a DNA molecule—a monument to the genome.

Ready, set, design.

From the brains at E&M labs: a demonstration.

In Greek, the word genome means “I become, I am born, to come into being.” E&M’s blend of science and good design creates a product where ANYONE can design something cool, weird and original. And, that’s awesome.

Hi! I’m Evan, the E half of E&M Labs — Thanks for the shout-out, and it’s awesome you like the Skallops.

We only have 36 hours left before the Kickstarter pre-order round closes, and we’re hoping to raise enough extra pre-orders that we can also afford to make a custom card deck with construction techniques printed on every card. So if you’re interested, make sure you check us out in the next day!

I love those!  and they support the free-form play that kids needs need today to learn to construct on their own, away from kits!   Kudos for making it simple yet kid friendly!
