Stormtrooper catching up on some reading

Yes...I am a die-hard Star Wars fan. Always will be. Although Mr. Lucas tried to ruin the greatest movie trilogy ever by adding on those more recent embarrassments. Nevertheless, Star Wars fans worldwide can rejoice (well at least 5,000 of them) in knowing about the release of the new book Star Wars: The Blueprints.

The Blueprints brings together, for the first time, the original blueprints created for the filming of the Star Wars saga. Drawn from deep within the Lucasfilm Archives and combined with exhaustive and insightful commentary from best-selling author J. W. Rinzler, the collection maps in precise, vivid and intricate detail the very genesis of the most enduring and beloved story to appear onscreen.

The Blueprints also gives voice to the groundbreaking and brilliant engineers, designers and artists that have, in film after film, created the most imaginative and iconic locales in the history of cinema.

By just glancing through the images of the book online, one cannot help but appreciate the level of detail and consideration that Lucas and his team exhibited in the creation and design of the creatures, vehicles and spatial environments throughout the saga.

Limited runs of the book can be purchased here and here.

I am really envying the level of detail given to this entire franchise but, goodness, the price – $500 / $1000. Whoa.
